Introduction

Meet me

Hello. My name is Eva-Katarina. A pagan, a witch, and a historian. My life's purpose is to preserve the historical heritage of our ancestors and to teach the ancient wisdom to the next generation.

My path was a long one, and I had to walk that path by myself for 15 years. All alone. Until today, that is.

I built a small café in the small town of Boden in the great north of Sweden. I named it "Häxan's Hem", meaning the witch's home. I filled it with ancient artifacts and images of the Scandinavian gods.

Many of my visitors asked me who they were, and pointed to the images of Thor, Odin and Freya. Children were especially interested in the pictures. More than 90% of adults and children did not know the ones depicted in the paintings, and did not know anything about ancient history at all. I was shocked.

At the same time, I saw a spark in the eyes of the many children who asked questions about the old gods and wanted to learn about them.

At that moment, my great and cunningly wise god, whose priestess I am, gave me a mission in life - the creation of a museum dedicated to him and all of his brothers. Well, how can I refuse him such a request?

Yes, this does require lots of responsibility and it is very time-consuming. It is very unusual, to say the least. But is it even possible to abandon such a great idea when you have Loki on your side?

Meet Loki

The most interesting and controversial character of Scandinavian mythology and a great source of problems and adventures in all of the nine worlds!

"I am the reason for most of the troubles of the ancient nordic gods. And I am a giver who brings something new and essential to the life of the gods and people.

According to legend, I am the god of fire, cunning and mischief. One of the main characters of the old stories.

I am often considered to be the main villain.

But is that really the truth? Hasn't the time come for you to get to know my side of the story?

After all, I am the one who finds my way out of any situation, even when the solution seems to be non-existent. I am the one who will be with you until the end of your days, if you are honest with yourself and if you adore adventures and excitement. Is it not fun to swim against the current? After all, only dead fish float with the flow. So let's give life to the north of Sweden. The cradle of northern magic and the home of the gods during their travels in Midgard."

Meet Lakaträsk

Lakaträsk - the place where the first house of Loki will be created.

Only 15 people currently live in the old village of Lakaträsk. This is a quiet, calm place with a rich nature that is very suitable for the location of the museum. This unique place is so remote and serene. It should protect the house from uninvited guests. It will help make it possible to plunge into a deep meditation for everyone who comes to the house in order to get away from the rest of the world for a moment. This place is so magical that it will not let you down and you'll leave, feeling regenerated and new.

Lakaträsk made an unplanned appearance in my life. I didn't even realise that it was all thanks to the tricks of the red-headed god. Not until I saw all the signs that surrounded me during the search for a prime location.

The first time, I got lost and drove into the village due to the broken navigator in my car. The second time, I went with my friends for a fishing trip, without even knowing about the beauty of the lakes surrounding the village. And the third time, having gone there, I specifically drew attention to the name of the village: "Lakaträsk". In Swedish, this means a leafy swamp. This is where Laufey's son brought me ... well, well. So be it.

Exactly 2 weeks after the realization of how the circumstances are formed, I found an old non-residential building and bought it. I also closed down my café and immediately moved to this village, becoming a part of it. And from this moment on, the work in it does not stop for a minute.

I, my children, my friends, my neighbours... We all contribute to this project with the desire and hope to build what will remain forever for many generations of people on this earth.
